What this file tells the agent
Lets AI assistants open pages, click, fill forms and read the result in a real browser, including JavaScript-heavy apps.
- Uses Microsoft's `@playwright/mcp`; the old `@modelcontextprotocol/server-puppeteer` package is deprecated.
- Works from the page's accessibility tree, so no screenshots or vision model are needed.
- Run it with `npx @playwright/mcp@latest`.
Install it in one command
- 01
Go to your project root
The file goes at claude_desktop_config.json, relative to the root.
- 02
Download the file
Run the command on the right. It downloads this preset and writes the file.
- 03
Make sure it gets used
Restart the client so it starts the server. Claude Code asks you to approve servers from .mcp.json; run /mcp to check their status.
